SunCoast Performance's Category 2 transmission kit contains all the Raybestos frictions and steels you will need to do rebuild on a 10L1000 transmission. This kit also has been modified to allow additional clutch capacity in the "E" and "F" clutch packs. Raybestos GPZ friction clutch plates greatly increase transmission performance and durability. Raybestos steel clutch plates are high quality and a superior surface finish supplies greater apply area and friction clutch life.

The High Capacity "E" clutch drum arrives fully assembled for effortless installation and addresses all of the facets affecting the durability of these clutches in highly demanding driving situations. To improve clutch life, SunCoast first started by simply increasing the clutch count boasting an astounding 29% increase in clutch capacity compared to the factory drum, surpassing any other aftermarket option on the market today by an additional 15%. Another key point addressed here is the deflection in the E-clutch. This is especially exacerbated when operating under higher line pressures, often experienced during heavy-duty or higher-load situations. This new SunCoast 10L1000 “patent-pending” E-piston is engineered to eliminate any possibility of apply-deflection or coning. Using superior materials and increasing the apply piston diameter, contact surface area has been significantly expanded. Crafted from billet T6061 aluminum bar stock and meticulously CNC machined in-house to exact tolerances, this new “E” Drum Apply Piston for the 10L1000 embodies SunCoast's excellence in design. Also the issue of the rapid factory drum degradation caused by steel tooth chatter/engagement involves the design of specialty 4140 steel dowels for the steels to engage with, replacing the highly malleable factory-cast aluminum. This design ensures reliability while keeping reciprocating mass at a minimum. This kit offers better shift performance and clutch durability, lowering noise and shudder, providing maximum NVH comfort and extending the life of your transmission.
