S&B's cold air intake for the Silverado / Sierra Duramax L5P 6.6L was engineered to minimize air restriction and flow better than stock. This kit comes with a fully enclosed airbox that protects the filter from dirt and keeps out engine heat. The new snap-In lid design requires no screws to secure it to the box which makes installation and inspection quick and easy. S&B's silicone edge trim provides a protective seal against unwanted, power-robbing engine heat and debris. Also included is a massive, highly-efficient air filter which results in better performance and protects your engine which is available in either 8-layer Cotton Cleanable or Dry Extendable media. The air filter, coupler, lid seal and box plug are all made with silicone that will seal better and last longer and handles temperatures as high as 400℉ without cracking or tearing. The 2020-2023 L5P Duramax 6.6L intake features three air inlet points. If you want to customize the amount of air you take in, S&B provides an optional box plug that can seal off one inlet point. When to use the Box Plug? For optimal performance, S&B recommends that the intake be used without the box plug, except in conditions of an extreme heatwave. S&B devotes a huge amount of resources to engineer their intakes to allow your engine to run properly with stock calibration or enhanced tuning. This kit was designed to avoid check engine lights with it's properly mapped Mass Air Flow Sensor.

• Adding an extra filter and/or cleaning kit saves time, and money on shipping.  
• Air Box Plug: Removing the plug will allow for maximum flow, however, water and debris are more likely to make it into the box. If your truck is constantly driven in a dirty environment, consider leaving the plug installed.
• Consider adding a S&B Filter Wrap to extend the life of your filter by shielding it from large debris like leaves, sticks, and bugs that can find their way into your air box and eventually damage the filter.
