Questionable Design

2003 Lb7
For the price they ask, i expect something with more care and thought put into it. The grommets and not made to go over factory pegs, for some ungodly reason. The just sort of "pop" onto the very edge of the peg, but not all the way against the firewall. But the grommets they use are so cheap they collapse if you are not aligned perfectly, meaning any misstep directly leads to that grommet being unable to be installed at all. If you try and force them on, it rips the grommet out of the insulation, creating an open tear for insulation to come out. And since it only clings onto the edge of the factory pegs, it's held away from the firewall and closer to the downpipe, resulting in even less wiggle room for downpipe removal/install. In addition, the attachment around the brake booster is a joke. It's just a small strand of wire they give you to tie together two loose fabric ends. Why is that the settled on solution? Why not a snap button? Or at least a metal peg like a turbo blanket to actually be able to pull tension against. I'm giving it 2 stars because the insulation does work and does look quite nice. But I couldn't in good conscience recommend this product to anyone.

Stays cool and quiet

The old insulation is ready to fall apart and looked really bad, the new PPE insulation looks great and very thick. Not only it keeps the cab cool but also reduces noise and looks cleaner. I definitely recommend this to anyone who needs new insulation!
