The BOSS Torsion-Flex combines the MEGA-DUTY drop hitch and TORSION-FLEX technology, catering to a wide range of customers, from construction contractors and municipal fleets to individuals requiring multiple trailer hookups. Besides its robustness, full adjustability, and versatility, the BOSS features rubber torsion arms. This design results in a mere 10% transfer of trailer inertia compared to the full transfer with hard connection hitches, delivering a remarkably smoother ride that promotes fuel efficiency by minimizing bouncing. The independent tracking of the tow vehicle and trailer enhances control and safety by reducing sway and trailer bounce, while also ensuring superior braking control due to even weight distribution. In challenging road conditions like bumps, potholes, curves, and hills, the BOSS maintains control, safeguarding against potential hazards. Moreover, it diminishes metal fatigue commonly associated with traditional towing methods, thus prolonging the longevity of both the trailer and its contents. As a result, the BOSS not only enhances overall quality of life but also retains its value, prioritizing the safety of everyone onboard, including family, friends, and livestock.

What Size Drop Hitch do I need?

This is typically the big question and can vary depending on your trailer. Ideally, you want your trailer to sit behind your vehicle as level as possible when connected. The easiest way to figure this out is to measure the difference from the bottom of the trailer tongue(level) to the inside bottom of your hitch. The difference is the approximate drop you should try to get close to.

If you are not sure of your trailer height, then 15-17" off the ground is an average height for most trailers to use. Again, measure tow vehicles hitch opening. Then the appropriate drop is the difference between that and approximately 16". For example, if your vehicle measures 19.5", then go with a 4" drop, that gets you close to the middle between 15"and 17".

  • It is important to be within the optimal Tongue/Pin weight specified for each model number.
  • Tow capacity is limited by lowest rated component.
  • The average break in period for these hithes is about 500 miles.
  • If you are using a pintle ring trailer, use a 2 5/16" ball not a 2" ball.
