Go back to a simpler time, when things worked and you could rely on your Duramax fuel system. Since the introduction of the common rail fuel system in 2001, all Duramax Engines were equipped with a reliable Bosch CP3 high pressure fuel pump. Then in 2011, GM made major changes and switched to a Bosch CP4 pump which has seen its share of problems!
The CP4 is also susceptible to catastrophic failure. When disaster strikes, the entire fuel system requires replacement after metal debris from the failed pump spreads throughout. Cleaning the tank, replacing lines and injectors, and of course a new pump can end up costing you in excess of $10,000 in repairs! Easy install, no more worries

I installed this BD CP3 kit on a 181000k mile truck as a preventative measure. I just wanted the peace of mind knowing I wasn't gonna get stranded. The install is a lot of work but it's easy if you know your way around a tool box. The kit was complete and I didn't need anything else. I'd say bending the existing lines to be clear of everything and meet up with the pump fittings was probably the trickiest part. Just remember to tighten those lines correctly and you'll have no leaks.
