Adding a lift pump on your 01-10 LB7/LLY/LBZ/LMM Duramax is arguably the single best modification you can make. These trucks did not come with a lift pump from the factory which means the injection pump (CP3) must pull the fuel from the tank, through the filter, then pressurize it for the injectors. A lift pump will alleviate the CP3 from having double duty, and make its only duty to pressurize the fuel for the injectors. Proper pressure and volume, combined with superior fuel filtration and water separation will protect the costly injectors and injection pump, and provide a noticeable bump in drivability and performance.
This is the AirDog II-5G DF-165-5G fuel system for the Duramax 6.6L Diesel. This diesel lift pump mounts to the frame for a clean looking installation. The suction side hooks up to the factory suction fitting in the fuel module. The pressure side connects directly to the factory injection pump feed line on the frame. The AirDog Air/Vapor return is sent back to the tank through a filler neck tee. This lift pump system is one of our easiest installations. Duramax's usually see the largest performance gains as these trucks do not come with a lift pump from the factory. This is a 165GPH (Gallon Per Hour) fuel system for modified trucks.
Features:
- 4 Bearing design with intermediate shaft to reduce pump noise and increase reliability
- Low flow return to reduce aeration in fuel tank
- Demand flow: pump only sends what the engine needs
- Dual fuel feed to both side of Gerotor pump to decrease cavitation
- Better filtration than stock
- New integrated diaphragm style fuel pressure regulator
- Limited Lifetime Warranty
Includes:
- Lift Pump
- Fuel Filter & Water Separator
- Mounting Brackets
- Wiring harness
- Installation hardware
DmaxStore Note:
- The 165GPH pump will support 600-900HP.
- If you plan on running the truck hard, or may end up right around the 600HP mark, it is common to size up to the 165GPH.
- Fuel Filter Delete: You can delete the factory fuel filter if you are running a lift pump with filters. The DmaxStore Fuel Filter Eliminator is our preferred option. It can be difficult to get a good grip on the housing when is it smooth and round, hence our design.
- Boost Compensation: If you'd like to set up the pump to increase pressure as boost increases, the Boost Compensation Kit will allow you to do that. This is not required and is mostly for those using the truck in a race/performance manner.
- We utilize the OTC 6754 Duramax Fuel Pressure Gauge to check the fuel pressure from the lift pump at the test port towards the passenger side of the engine.
Warranty:
- Limited Lifetime Warranty upon completion of AirDog's WARRANTY REGISTRATION FORM.
