Kryptonite Idler Side Package: The Steering Upgrade Every Lifted Duramax Needs

If you're running larger wheels and tires on your GM HD truck, odds are your factory steering components are already showing signs of stress. The OEM idler and pitman arms were never built to handle the added weight and force from oversized tires—especially on trucks with lift kits. That’s where the Kryptonite Death Grip Idler Side Package comes in.

Why the Factory Steering Fails

The factory idler arm and support bracket are weak points on the front end of lifted Duramax trucks. When subjected to the added leverage of bigger tires, these parts can flex, wear out prematurely, or even snap—leading to poor steering response, misalignment, and unsafe driving conditions.

The Kryptonite Solution

Kryptonite developed the Death Grip Idler Side Package to eliminate these problems. The kit includes:

  • Heavy-duty Idler Arm
  • Reinforced Idler Arm Support Bracket
  • Frame Gusset for added chassis support

This combination delivers unmatched rigidity and durability. All components are engineered with oversized forged bodies, dual roller bearings and heat-treated 4140 Chromoly studs, eliminating the weak links found in factory designs. This customer also added the Kryptonite Pitman Arm—another high-stress component that often wears out under the same conditions.

Built for Strength. Proven to Last.

Whether you’re daily driving, towing, or off-roading, these parts are built to take abuse. Kryptonite’s idler and pitman arms don’t just last longer—they perform better. The added strength means tighter steering, better alignment control, and less wear on the rest of your front-end components.

A Must-Have for Lifted Trucks

If your truck has a lift and larger tires, this is not just a recommended upgrade—it’s a necessity. Don’t wait for your factory steering to fail. Upgrade your idler side with Kryptonite’s proven solution and drive with confidence knowing you’ve got one of the strongest setups available.

Important Fitment Note

Not compatible with centerlink drop bracket lift kits. Certain lift kit manufacturers use a centerlink drop bracket system to alter steering geometry. This setup is not compatible with Kryptonite’s idler or pitman arms, as the added rigidity of these components can lead to binding. OEM parts may flex to accommodate this, but Kryptonite components are engineered to eliminate flex entirely—making them incompatible with dropped centerlink configurations.
